Google Panda 2.4 Now Officially Rolled Out in Most Languages

Last Friday, August 12, Google announced on its blog that they’ve rolled out Panda Update 2.4 to most languages around the world except for Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. Moreover, this launch also includes minor tweaks to the English version of Panda but will not have a substantial effect on websites.

This is one concern companies providing outsourced SEO and SEM services must look at.

According to Google:

“Today we’re continuing that effort by rolling out our algorithmic search improvements in different languages… this change impacts typically 6-9% of queries to a degree that a user might notice. This is distinctly lower than the initial launch of Panda, which affected almost 12% of English queries to a noticeable amount. If your website has been affected by this recent update, their official blog announcing Panda 2.4 provides tips and guidance on how Google looks for.”

If your website has been affected by this recent update, their official blog announcing Panda 2.4 provides tips and guidance on how Google looks for high-quality websites. As of now, webmasters from different parts of the world are reporting loss of traffic. These are websites which were not affected by Panda before. It is still possible to recover from losing your rankings because of Panda, but it doesn’t happen overnight.

In the grand scheme of things, Google is aiming to provide accurate, relevant, and high-quality sites to users and at this rate, it might happen soon. Although this is the first rollout to international languages, it is expected that more changes are bound to happen.
